"What began as a simple banner order turned into a huge, wide-ranging service for this construction, civil engineering and facilities management collective…"
The challenge
It started with a chance meeting at the Hive Blackburn & Darwen Business Awards. Our co-founder Anthony was on the judging panel with Suzanne Taylor, Marketing, PR and CSR Manager for the Eric Wright Group – a number of businesses that specialise in civil engineering, construction, facilities and property management, water, health and care, and community partnerships.
Suzanne guides the communication strategy and branding across each sector, tweaking the look and feel of their print materials to match. She wanted more from their print supplier – she wanted to partner with someone that could develop a firm grasp of the brand and offer cost-effective solutions. It was time for Empine to take over.
The strategy
Events were the initial focus. The Group host and attend countless expos, fairs and conferences every year. We looked at their existing banners, stands and Foamex boards, and suggested how their visuals and messaging could be improved.
They also wanted to enhance their signage for schools; many educational communities are next to construction sites, and have to be warned of dangers and physical risks. This is also true for healthcare centres. A variety of materials were required, including panels, hoardings, flags and banners.
We linked up with the Group’s in-house design team, transferring their existing assets and refining the visuals, messaging and spatial layouts throughout.
The result
After the first event materials were launched, the response was immediate – the Eric Wright Group were seeing a better return for a reduced amount of investment. We moved on to craft a large batch order for tri-fold flyers and brochures, cementing our affinity with each target market.
The projects have kept coming ever since across all divisions within the Group. One of our more notable banners during this time was made specially for the UK’s first stainless steel bridge, which was being live streamed and lifted by one of the largest cranes in the country. We put the Eric Wright Civil Engineering name and logo centre stage.
By continuing to act as the Group’s print marketing agency for both one-off work and ongoing brochure, poster and event orders, Empine stays in step with the evolving nature of the business. We ensure they communicate exactly what they want to, how they want to.
“We’ve been working with Empine for over 4 years now, and what started out as a chance meeting has turned into a really proficient and reliable service. Nothing is too much trouble for Empine. The personal touch from both Anthony and Jacob is the real icing on the cake, often delivered in person and always with a smile. I’ve already highly recommended them for their efforts to secure future business locally, and the Eric Wright Group look forward to our continued partnership.”
